Summary: PhoneFile PRO SE enables you to recover SMS text messages from your SIM card that have been previously deleted. Furthermore, PhoneFile PRO SE enables you to manage, save and transfer the phonebook information stored on your mobile phone's SIM card easily and quickly, using the included SIM reader. PhoneFile PRO can also permanently wipe SMS text messages on the SIM, so as to make them irrecoverable.
How does it work? When a text message is deleted from the SIM it is not always removed - typically, the phone simply marks them as being 'deleted' until a newer message is received and saved over it. If this is the case, you will be able to recover any text message which hasn't yet been overwritten by a new incoming message.
Other special features include a permanent 'wipe' function for all text messages, ensuring that they cannot be recovered in this manner at a later date (useful if you are concerned about your own privacy), and the ability to recall the list of last dialled numbers stored in the SIM, even if they are not in the mobile's phonebook. All SIM phonebook contacts are also viewable.
Note that SIM cards will typically store between 10 and 40 texts, depending on the network provider and type of SIM (eg pre-pay or contract.) The messages displayed will be the last ones saved to the SIM, whether deleted or not. Success at retrieving deleted texts therefore varies depending on the phone type and the way in which you manage your texts. Best results are obtained from SIMs where texts are regularly deleted and where the phone has been set to store texts on the SIM.
Note also that if you lock your card with a SIM-based PIN (rather than the usual phone lock), you will have to know the PIN in order for PhoneFile PRO to access your data. However, PhoneFile PRO does provide a special function to reset the PIN to a new value, if you obtain the PUK (unlock) code from the network provider.
This package is very easy to install and use, and runs on Windows 2000, XP & Vista. It works with GSM SIM cards from any network and includes free lifetime software upgrades and technical support via email.

Due to the extensive range of mobile handsets in the market, and the way that they manage text messages, we cannot guarantee that this product will recover the deleted data that you want from your SIM. For example, some newer phones perform their own permanent 'wipe' of deleted messages and these will not be recoverable - unfortunately there is no way of knowing this in advance. To prevent abuse, there are no returns available on any data recovery products, however, a free exchange will be issued if the product is deemed defective.
